Job Overview

POSITION SUMMARY

The Facilities Technician II plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of daily activities by coordinating and executing maintenance tasks related to facilities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responds promptly to maintenance requests, acting as the primary troubleshooting technician before escalating issues. Takes decisive action to resolve problems concerning equipment and furniture maintenance, electrical systems, lighting, HVAC, workplace safety, and other general operational needs. Collaborates with third-party vendors as necessary and ensures thorough documentation in the work order system from initiation to completion. Assists with office space setups, relocations, and installations.
  • Oversees the organization and supply management of breakrooms, storage areas, and common spaces. Monitors inventory levels and coordinates the procurement of necessary goods and services to fulfill assigned tasks.
  • Supports the identification and resolution of safety concerns. Actively monitors the workplace for potential hazards, submitting reports as needed. Promotes a culture of safety and participates in safety drills and training exercises. Conducts regular facility inspections to identify safety issues and deficiencies, promptly notifying management of any concerns.
  • Provides assistance with facility-related systems and projects, including maintenance and upgrades. Supports fleet vehicle maintenance as required and communicates any changes in asset locations while assisting with condition assessments and disposition requests.
  • Offers support for CATOPS as required, in accordance with business unit response plans. Aids in continuity testing and emergency preparedness efforts.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Familiarity with office procedures and practices.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Fundamental arithmetic skills.
  • Effective communication skills with all stakeholders.
  • Ability to learn new skills and systems efficiently.
  • Capability to manage multiple responsibilities with a keen attention to detail.
  • Adaptability to changing environments and operational demands.
  • Understanding of relevant rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Willingness to work extended hours and support emergency operations as necessary.
  • Strong customer service orientation.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • High School Diploma or GED (mandatory).
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in facilities maintenance.
  • Valid driver's license and the ability to operate company vehicles in accordance with policy.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Knowledge of general office operations, maintenance terminology, and trades such as HVAC, plumbing, electrical, painting, and carpentry.
  • Two or more years of experience in a facilities maintenance role within an office setting.
  • Proficient understanding of general office operations and maintenance terminology.
  • Experience in interpreting floor plans.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Occasional stationary position.
  • Continuous movement and traversal.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly.
  • Frequent ascending/descending and traversing.
  • Continuous communication and interaction with others.
  • Regular inspection and assessment of facilities.
  • Frequent lifting, transporting, and installing of equipment.
  • Regular exposure to various work environments.
  • Occasional travel may be required.
