Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Porter to join our team at the Millbrook Terrace Senior Center. As a Porter, you will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and safety of our facilities, ensuring a comfortable and welcoming environment for our residents.

Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including cleaning, mopping, and vacuuming of common areas, stairwells, and resident floors.
  • Assist with painting and light repairs as directed.
  • Help with special projects, such as stripping and waxing floors.
  • Receive and store food and supplies, including checking deliveries and implementing prompt and safe storage.
  • Maintain inventory of supplies and assist with distribution.
  • Work cooperatively with other staff members to establish and maintain a high level of care and respect for residents.
  • Attend training sessions and conferences as required to enhance job skills.
  • Implement emergency procedures as necessary.
Requirements
  • Preferred: Minimum of 1 year experience working with dependent persons.
  • At least 18 years of age.
  • Able to work in a multi-cultural environment, with staff and residents.
  • Emotionally, mentally, and physically able to perform job responsibilities.
  • Able to speak, read, and write English.
