Job Summary:

The Housekeeper role is responsible for maintaining a high level of campus cleanliness, providing excellent customer service, and supporting the overall mission of the department. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Clean and maintain campus facilities to meet APPA Custodial Service Level 2 standards.
  • Work with students and staff to enhance the student leadership model and promote a positive work environment.
  • Manage housekeeping materials and stock housekeeping closets to ensure efficient operations.
  • Participate in the Facilities emergency on-call rotation and respond to after-hours requests.
  • Meet with the Assistant Director to coordinate daily activities, events, and schedules for the housekeeping staff.
  • Inspect work in progress to ensure all tasks are completed to a high standard.
  • Operate power equipment, vehicles, and cleaning machines to accomplish assigned tasks.
  • Work weekends as needed to support school events and activities.
  • Continuously seek opportunities to improve cleaning procedures and customer service.
Requirements:
  • Housekeeping experience in a collegiate or hospitality setting is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of housekeeping methods, materials, and equipment.
  • Knowledge of MIOSHA and other safety procedures.
  • Ability to use tools, machines, and equipment for housekeeping tasks.
  • Ability to plan and prioritize work responsibilities.
  • Ability to promote and work in a team environment.
Essential Qualifications:
  • A personal relationship with Jesus Christ and an active Christian commitment.
  • A theology that supports the values and mission of Cornerstone University, as evidenced by an ability to affirm and sign the university's doctrinal statement, The Cornerstone Confession.
