Visitor Services Representative

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Visitor Services Assistant to join our team at the U.S. Department of the Interior. As a Visitor Services Assistant, you will provide exceptional customer service to visitors, respond to inquiries, and provide information about park activities and recreational opportunities.

• Provide customer service to visitors at the Visitor Center and other areas throughout the park.
• Respond to inquiries and provide information about park activities and recreational opportunities.
• Operate and maintain the Visitor Center, including a museum, cooperating association bookstore, and theater with audio-visual equipment.
• Support park personnel by assisting with special programs and events, including planning, setup, implementation, and take down.
• Monitor trail conditions and report obstructions, safety hazards, and visitor responses and attitudes.
• Collect and compile data and disseminate information through various means.

• U.S. Citizenship required.
• Appointment subject to background investigation and favorable adjudication.
• Meet Selective Service Registration Act requirement for males.
• Complete the initial online assessment and USAHire Assessment, if required.
• Selectee will be required to participate in the Direct Deposit Electronics Funds Transfer Program.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Uniform and compliance with National Park Service uniform standards required.
• Ability to work on-call, evenings, weekends, holidays, overtime, and shift work.
• Government housing may be available.
• One-year probationary period required for new employees and supervisors.
• Occasional overnight travel may be required.

To qualify for this position, you must possess at least one of the following minimum qualifications:

• At least one year of general experience equivalent to the GS-03 grade level, including greeting the public, disseminating information, and providing directions.
• Successful completion of at least two years of education above high school (60 semester hours).
• Successful completion of a combination of education and experience as described above.
