Job Title: Teacher Assistant

Job Summary:

The Hill Country Community Action Association is seeking a qualified Teacher Assistant to join our team. As a Teacher Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the daily operations of our Head Start program, ensuring the well-being and education of our young students.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Teacher in planning and implementing lesson plans, ensuring a safe and engaging learning environment for children.
  • Supervise and engage with children during play activities, enforcing safety rules and intervening when necessary.
  • Support the Teacher in maintaining accurate records, including documentation of children's progress and behavior.
  • Participate in staff meetings and training sessions to enhance knowledge and skills.
  • Collaborate with the Teacher and other staff members to ensure a cohesive and effective team approach.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Child Development Associate (CDA) credential preferred.
  • Experience working with young children, preferably in an early childhood education setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with children, parents, and staff.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and participate in physical activities, such as running after children.
  • Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
