About the Role
Muon Space is seeking an RF Test Engineer to contribute to the success of our Electrical Engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and executing RF-specific tests on various subsystems. This role will be based at our headquarters in Mountain View, California, and will require collaboration with engineers to develop and execute test procedures.

Responsibilities

Develop and execute RF-specific tests to qualify current and new designs.
Author and execute procedures for component-level acceptance testing.
Coordinate with the supply chain team to kit parts, test, and prepare for flight builds.
Assist with setup and modification of test and development hardware in the lab.
Run radiated and conducted emissions testing on systems and subsystems of the satellite.
Debug emissions issues in the system.

Qualifications

Extensive experience with RF-specific test equipment, including VNAs, spectrum analyzers, frequency counters, oscilloscopes, etc.
Experience with antenna setup and testing.
Ability to independently troubleshoot electronics and test equipment issues.
Ability to follow written procedures and document results.
Excellent communication skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with new challenges each week.

Nice-to-Have Skills

Thermal testing and chamber experience.
Fine pitch rework and soldering ability.
Experience building RF cables and other harnesses.
Certification in relevant build/rework standards.
Knowledge of EMC standards and procedures, as well as radio communications fundamentals.
Test equipment automation experience in a high-level scripting language such as Python, Perl, Bash, etc.
