About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Surgical Technologist to join our team at Hershey Outpatient Surgery Center. As a key member of our surgical team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the success of our surgical procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish and maintain a sterile field during surgical procedures
  • Assist the circulating nurse and surgical team in maintaining a sterile environment
  • Assist in gathering necessary surgical supplies and equipment
  • Participate in sponge, needle, and instrument count pre-operatively and intra-operatively
  • Assist in keeping physician preference cards accurate and up-to-date
  • Retain all specimens to be sent to pathology and confirm source and name with the surgeon
  • Transport all surgical equipment to appropriate cleaning areas and assist in sterile supply with cleaning and reprocessing of instrument sets
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a high school diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited program in Surgical Technology. Certification is also required. While experience is always beneficial, we welcome new graduates who are eager to learn and grow with our team.
