Job Summary

MUSC Health - Black River Medical Center is seeking skilled Physician Assistants or Nurse Practitioners to provide diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventive healthcare services for patients in Cades, SC and the surrounding communities.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team of Emergency Medicine Advanced Practice Providers. As a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, working collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team, and contributing to the development of our Emergency Department.

Responsibilities

  • Takes comprehensive history and performs physical examinations
  • Evaluates and treats based on history, physical examination, radiological, laboratory, and other diagnostic test results
  • Performs therapeutic procedures, including administration of local and digital anesthesia, complicated and uncomplicated repair of lacerations, and placement of peripheral venous access
  • Initiates referrals to other healthcare providers and consults with the attending physician or collaborating physician
  • Documents and bills for direct care provided

Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program and currently licensed or eligible for licensure as a Physician Assistant or completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program and currently licensed or eligible for licensure as an APRN
  • 2 years of Emergency Room Experience as an APP or graduation from an Emergency Room Fellowship
  • Preferred experience as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner in an Adult Emergency Department
