Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Junior Engineer to join our dynamic team. As a Junior Office Engineer - Estimator, you will be responsible for planning take-offs and bid preparation, coordinating with subcontractors, and managing bid proposals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Take-Offs and Bid Preparation: Perform detailed quantity take-offs from construction plans and assist in preparing preliminary bids.
  • Subcontractor Coordination: Request and compile pricing from subcontractors, presenting findings to senior estimating staff for review.
  • Bid Management: Download and coordinate bid proposals, maintain bid calendars, and ensure timely submission of bids.
  • Pre-Bid Meetings: Attend pre-bid meetings with project owners to gain a thorough understanding of project requirements and scopes of work.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of all bid-related activities and prepare reports as needed.
Requirements
  • Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in the civil engineering or construction sector.
  • Technical Skills: Math, Microsoft Excel, and Insite are required. Experience with Bluebeam, AutoCAD, Heavy Bid software is highly desirable.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred, but equivalent work experience will be considered.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with subcontractors, project owners, and team members.
  • Detail-oriented: Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills to efficiently manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, supporting senior staff and contributing to project success.
