Job Summary:

The Sanitation Supervisor will oversee the Carl Buddig and Company Sanitation Program, ensuring a safe, high-quality, and consistent food product per USDA regulations in all in-process and finished meat and poultry products. This position will monitor and maintain all processes impacting sanitation production, working in cooperation with other departmental staff or personnel.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sanitation Program Implementation: Develop and implement proper procedures for cleaning and sanitizing, creating sanitation schedules to ensure regular or as-needed cleaning.
  • Master Sanitation Schedule Management: Follow and adjust the Master Sanitation Schedule as needed, verifying and monitoring completion of responsibilities via a sanitation work schedule.
  • Self-Inspection and Record Keeping: Create and enforce self-inspection schedules to ensure self-auditing is completed, maintaining accurate records and reports.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain required inventory of all sanitation department supplies.
  • Employee Supervision: Ensure sanitation technicians are performing job duties as outlined via the Sanitation Technician Job Description, and that employees are abiding by all Carl Buddig and Company policies via the Employee Handbook and Safety Manual.
  • Training and Development: Train new and existing employees on required job duties, discussing employees who have breached company policy or are not meeting performance metrics with the Sanitation Manager and disciplining accordingly.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Perform other duties as assigned by the Sanitation Manager, maintaining work areas in a clean and sanitary manner, and performing Pre-Op inspections using Red Zone software.

Requirements:

  • Education: High School Diploma/GED preferred.
  • Experience: Previous food plant sanitation experience, with a minimum of 2-3 years supervisory experience.
  • Skills: Ability to delegate responsibilities to employees, analyze situations to provide solutions in the best interest of the company, and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Working Conditions: Eighty-five percent of work will be conducted in the plant (production) area, requiring the ability to stand or walk at least 80% of each day, and to lift up to 25 pounds.
