Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team at Lambeth House for weekend shifts. As an LPN, you will provide direct nursing care to residents, supervise Certified Nursing Assistants, and ensure the highest level of care and service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Observe and record resident conditions, vital signs, and medication administration
  • Assess and orient new residents, and continuously re-assess residents as needed
  • Participate in care planning, including assessment, formulation, implementation, evaluation, and revision
  • Collect and arrange for transfer of specimens to laboratory as ordered by the attending physician
  • Perform wound care and treatments as ordered, and document appearance and procedures
  • Administer medications as ordered, and document on the medication administration record
  • Assist physicians with procedures and rounds, and communicate with Dietary and Social Services as needed
  • Supervise and guide Certified Nursing Assistants, and initiate disciplinary action as outlined in the employee handbook
  • Maintain accurate records of controlled substances, and ensure physician orders for medications, diets, and treatments
Requirements
  • Graduation from a state-accredited school of Practical Nursing
  • Current licensure to practice as a Practical Nurse in the state of Louisiana
  • Continuing education as required by the Louisiana State Board of Examiners for Licensed Practical Nurses
  • Good physical and mental health, and ability to communicate effectively with co-workers, residents, families, physicians, and the general public
  • Freedom from communicable disease, and current CPR Certification
Working Conditions

The LPN will work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent lifting, bending, and standing. The ability to read and write as necessary to complete necessary communication is required.
