Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our nursing team at Lambeth House. As a key member of our care team, you will provide direct nursing care to residents and supervise the work of Certified Nursing Assistants.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Observe and record resident conditions, vital signs, and treatments in the medical record.
  2. Assess and orient new residents, and continuously re-assess residents to ensure their needs are met.
  3. Participate in care planning, including assessment, formulation, implementation, evaluation, and revision.
  4. Administer medications as ordered by the attending physician, and document on the medication administration record.
  5. Assist physicians with procedures and rounds, and communicate with Social Services when resident or family issues arise.
Requirements
  1. Graduation from a state accredited school of Practical Nursing.
  2. Currently licensed to practice as a Practical Nurse in the state of Louisiana.
  3. Continuing education as required by the Louisiana State Board of Examiners for Licensed Practical Nurses.
  4. Good physical and mental health.
  5. Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers, residents, families, physicians, and the general public.
Working Conditions

The successful candidate will be able to lift/push at least thirty-five (35) pounds, maneuver medication carts throughout the unit, and bend, turn, sit, and stand as needed to care for residents.
