Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Marine Mechanic to support contracted skilled trades work on our Elevator Support Unit (ESU). The successful candidate will help us with installations and alterations to Weapon Elevators, Aircraft Elevators, and their associated systems on U.S. Navy ships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform skilled trades, maintenance, and technical tasks on aircraft carrier elevators, cargo-handling systems, and associated equipment.
  • Develop technical documents, including controlled work packages, formal work processes, and procedures.
  • Apply comprehensive understanding of production and processes toward completion of assignments.
  • Interface with customers, manage subcontractors, and provide work direction to others.
  • Schedule, report, and brief customers and senior management.

Requirements:

  • High school education or equivalent, and 4 years of related experience.
  • Provide own hand tools as designated per trades specialty.
  • Experience in the operation, repair, and maintenance of marine electro-mechanical systems.
  • Experience in troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and testing of hydraulic systems.
  • Able to obtain and maintain base access credentials (DBIDS).
  • Able to obtain and maintain a DoD Confidential Security Clearance and be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Proficient in reading US Navy schematics, diagrams, and technical manuals.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Technical or professional certifications.
  • Experience with aircraft carrier elevator systems.
  • A current, valid DoD Confidential Security Clearance or higher.

Work Environment:
Must be able to lift, carry, and transport heavy equipment and boxes. Able to work on and climb ladders, work in extreme temperature environments, aboard ships, in shipyards, under industrial conditions, and in confined spaces. May ride ships at sea for extended periods.
