About the Position

As a Deputy Contracting Chief, you will exercise full and concurrent authority with the Chief in performing the overall procurement mission of the Division, including planning, supervision, management, review of policies, programs, and functions of the Division.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as a contracting officer with unlimited monetary authority to contract for supplies, services, utilities, and agreements on behalf of the United States.
  • Review contracts and other procurement regulations and policies, ensuring inclusion of pertinent clauses and conditions, and acting as an official agent of the government, making final determinations and signing obligating contractual documents.
  • Perform personnel and position management functions, such as evaluating performance, interviewing candidates, and making selections for vacancies, determining training needs, and biennial position reviews.
  • Provide advice and make recommendations on all aspects of pre-award and post-award functions or elements for all military and civil works procurement actions.

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Additional Information

Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct deposit of pay is required. This position requires you to submit a Public Financial Disclosure Report (OGE 278) or a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report (OGE450) upon entry, and annually thereafter.
