Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and certified Group Exercise Instructor to join our team at CDPHP Fitness Connect at the Ciccotti Center. As a Group Exercise Instructor, you will be responsible for teaching group exercise classes in a professional and safe manner to our members and guests.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach group exercise classes as scheduled, providing modifications to accommodate varying fitness levels.
  • Understand contraindicated exercises and provide a safe and effective approach to exercise.
  • Maintain industry certification in good standing and meet continuing education requirements.
  • Ensure arrival time allows for proper setup, class starts and ends on time, and the area is cleaned up after class.
  • Report any equipment needs or broken equipment requiring repair to the supervisor immediately after class.
  • Record participation numbers after every group exercise class.
  • Demonstrate accountability to the schedule by avoiding missed classes and seeking substitute instructors in advance.
  • Provide a fun and engaging experience for participants.
  • Work towards meeting departmental and organizational goals.
  • The ability to be flexible and accommodating regarding center hours and work schedules.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or GED preferred.
  • A group exercise instructor certification is required, preferably an NCCA-accredited certification.
  • Certification for some specialty group exercise class instruction is required.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in group class instruction, teaching a variety of styles, levels, and populations preferred.
  • CPR/AED certification required within 90 days of hire (provided by Power Wellness).
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to work with members in a positive, service-based manner.
  • Ability to multi-task and maintain a controlled and professional demeanor.
