Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Industrial Hygiene Specialist to join our Environmental, Safety, Security and Health (ESSH) team at Ascend Performance Materials. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving best-in-class occupational safety and health performance at our Pensacola Plant.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage comprehensive Industrial Hygiene plans for the site, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards.
  • Conduct Industrial Hygiene activities, including air monitoring, sample handling, data analysis, ventilation, radiation, ergonomics, hazard communication, and report writing.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor programs for all industrial hygiene standards, systems, and work processes, creating value by facilitating risk assessments and working with facility employees to develop solutions to mitigate or eliminate risks.
  • Manage exposure assessment data, including qualitative and quantitative exposure assessment documentation.
  • Ensure that occupational health practices and regulatory requirements are recognized, reviewed, and implemented.
  • Participate in emerging issues identification, analysis, and resolution.
  • Collaborate with the site ESSH team to maintain and improve ESSH programs, policies, systems, and initiatives for the site or company.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Health, Public Health, or a closely-related science/engineering field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in the organic chemical industry, oil refining, industrial manufacturing, and/or heavy construction environment.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety and health practices and standards.
  • General safety program management with strong knowledge and understanding of OSHA and other industry-related safety regulations.
  • Certification, training, and/or working knowledge of OSHA 10/30, HAZWOPER, radiation safety, and other relevant certifications.
  • Ability to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) certification.
  • Proficiency with SAP, Cority, Sphera, or other SDS management systems.
  • Experience in developing and delivering training.
