Beverage Specialist

Position Summary:
The K Club Bartenders play a crucial role in delivering outstanding service to guests, adhering to the high standards set by the Tribute Collection.
Important Note: The Karol Hotel maintains a drug-free environment. All candidates offered a position must undergo pre-employment screening, including background checks and drug testing.
Key Responsibilities
- Enhance guests' bar experience through thoughtful recommendations.
- Possess comprehensive knowledge of beverages, including spirits and wines.
- Serve guests efficiently and courteously, following established service protocols.
- Demonstrate expertise in cocktail preparation as per Karol Management's training aligned with Marriott standards.
- Ensure possession of necessary tools for shift operations, such as pens, corkscrews, and bar utensils.
- Skillfully pair wines with meals.
- Understand that the bar serves a full menu and be prepared to assist with complete meals or shared dining experiences.
- Assist with light food running when necessary, including the ability to carry warm or hot plates.
- Maintain thorough knowledge of all menu items, including preparation times, ingredients, sauces, allergies, and accompaniments.
- Process payments for food and beverages served.
- Adhere to TIPS practices to ensure responsible alcohol service in accordance with Marriott and hotel policies.
- Stay informed about specials, soups, drinks, and low-stock items.
- Manage station effectively and communicate proactively with management to maintain guest satisfaction.
- Follow cash handling protocols and be prepared to explain any discrepancies.
- Keep the bar area clean and organized.
- Sanitize glasses, utensils, and bar equipment in compliance with Marriott safety standards.
- Perform additional duties as requested by management to enhance guest service.
Performance Standards
- Contribute to achieving high guest satisfaction scores on the GSS as per Marriott's expectations.
Qualifications
Education & Experience:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Prior experience in hospitality is essential.
- A minimum of two years of bartending experience in a high-volume bar or restaurant setting, preferably in the greater Tampa Bay area.
- Exceptional customer service skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- Proficiency in using technology, such as tablets and iPads.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift 20 pounds or more.
- Capability to sit or stand for extended periods.
- Clear communication skills.
- Corrected vision within normal range.
- Willingness to work long hours as necessary.
Mental Requirements
- Ability to make sound decisions quickly.
- Capable of managing multiple tasks while meeting deadlines.
