Job Summary

CareFirst is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Quality Pharmacist to join our team. In this critical role, you will play a key part in improving and maintaining the quality of care provided to our members. Your expertise will be instrumental in designing and implementing strategies to enhance medication-related STARs and HEDIS quality metrics.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to develop and implement quality improvement initiatives.
  • Analyze population health data to identify areas for intervention and engage providers, members, and pharmacies to close gaps in care.
  • Conduct medication therapy management reviews, adherence, duplicative therapy, cost containment, and opioid outreaches.
  • Present information to various committees, including P&T, QIC, MEC, and others, to drive quality improvement efforts.
Requirements
  • Ph.D. in Pharmacy (Doctorate of Pharmacy) degree.
  • 5 years of experience in clinical pharmacy, preferably in a managed care environment.
  • Strong critical reasoning skills in clinical decision-making, planning, and organizing.
  • Current knowledge of clinical practices and related information systems and computer applications.
