We are seeking a highly motivated and articulate Chief Development Strategist to lead and execute comprehensive stewardship and revenue strategies for Imperative Recruiting. As the chief revenue generator, this key leadership role involves developing and implementing a comprehensive fundraising plan to support our mission.

Position Overview

The Chief Development Strategist will be instrumental in ensuring that Hedgebrook continues to provide vital resources to the women we support, enabling them to make a significant impact through their work. An ideal candidate will be prepared to travel up to 25 percent of the year to Whidbey Island and various locations to nurture relationships with donors across the U.S.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in nonprofit management, business administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 6 years experience in nonprofit fundraising, with a proven track record of success in major gifts, corporate and foundation giving, and special events.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to write compelling donor communications and marketing materials.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with experience managing a team of fundraising professionals.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, Board members, donors, and volunteers.
  • Experience with fundraising software and donor databases.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Identify, cultivate, and solicit major donors, including individuals, corporations, and foundations.
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with donors, ensuring regular and meaningful communication.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising plan to meet the organization's annual revenue goals.
  • Identify and cultivate major gift prospects, as well as corporate and foundation donors.
  • Serve as the main point of contact in partnering with event strategists and consultants to plan and execute special events that engage donors and raise funds for the organization.
  • Collaborate with the Communications and Programs team to develop and execute effective donor communications and marketing materials.
  • Work in close partnership with the Executive Director to ensure strategy and execution are successful.
  • Monitor and analyze fundraising data to evaluate performance and adjust strategies as needed.
Benefits
  • Competitive Salary: $120,000 - $150,000 per annum, depending on experience.
