Bon Secours is seeking a Registered Nurse - Clinical Float Pool to join our team at Southside Medical Center in Petersburg, Virginia. As a Clinical Float Pool nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. This is a full-time day shift position with a competitive salary and benefits package.
Key Responsibilities- Assess, analyze, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care following established patient care standards for the organization.
- Participate as a member of the healthcare team in cooperation with and under the direction of a clinical manager or designee.
- Float to various departments and sites throughout the markets within the organization to provide patient care.
- Participate in continuous quality improvement and departmental activities.
- Act as a patient safety advocate by participating in ongoing quality improvement in the department.
- Current nursing license in the designated state of employment.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification based on specialty assignment.
- Associate's degree in nursing or Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) preferred.
- 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse in acute care.
- EPIC Electronic Health Record experience preferred.
This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with periods of high stress and fluctuating workloads. The nurse may be exposed to high noise levels, bright lights, and physical altercations. The nurse may also be required to use physical restraints and may be exposed to human blood and other potentially infectious materials.
Physical RequirementsThe nurse must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull objects weighing up to 50 pounds. The nurse must also be able to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods. The nurse must have manual dexterity, finger dexterity, and color vision. The nurse must also be able to hear alarms, telephone, and audio recordings.
