Litigation Paralegal

Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP, a leading international law firm, is seeking a highly skilled Litigation Paralegal to join its Insurance Coverage practice group. This role will provide critical support to lawyers and timekeepers in preparing complex legal documents, conducting mid-level legal research, and performing various tasks related to the firm's Insurance Coverage practice area.
Responsibilities:- Rule Knowledge and Application: Possess intermediate knowledge and application of Federal, State, and Local Rules, staying up-to-date with current rule changes and informing the team accordingly.
- Research and Analysis: Identify relevant laws, judicial decisions, legal articles, and other materials for assigned cases, business transactions, or regulatory matters, analyzing and organizing the information to prepare written reports for lawyers.
- Document Preparation and Coordination: Assist with the preparation of legal documents in draft and final form, coordinate with clients regarding documentation, and conduct routine document reviews.
- Communication and Correspondence: Draft correspondence, memoranda to file, and basic documents related to case or transaction substance for internal and external use.
- Technology and Proficiency: Utilize firm-supported technology tools, demonstrate proficiency in cite checking and Bluebooking, and perform special projects as assigned.
- Regulatory and Administrative Tasks: Complete routine legal filings, E-filing, and communications with court representatives, utilizing a mid-level understanding of regulatory, administrative, and/or court service requirements.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred, with a paralegal certificate, National Association of Legal Assistants certification, or specialty certificate provided by the State being helpful.
- Experience: Minimum of three years of paralegal or related business experience required, with previous experience coordinating paralegal work or case clerks being helpful.
- Skills and Abilities: Intermediate knowledge and application of Federal, State, and Local Rules, knowledge of Microsoft Office, basic technological and research skills, ability to train other paralegals, work efficiently and accurately under pressure, and present a positive, professional image.
Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP offers a competitive salary range of $71,900 to $111,700 for Washington, DC-based employees, with salaries for employees based outside of Washington, DC differing based on factors such as education, training, and experience. The firm provides a range of benefits and wellness options based on experience, performance, and location, comparing favorably to market standards in every region and across the legal industry.
