Position Overview:

The Bakery Supervisor at Nothing Bundt Cakes (NbC) is responsible for leading the team and overseeing daily operations, which encompass all facets of customer interaction, cake creation, brand presentation, merchandise display, financial management, and inventory oversight. The primary goal of this position is to enhance sales and profitability while ensuring the delivery of top-notch cakes, a friendly atmosphere, and exceptional service to our customers. The Bakery Supervisor embodies NbC's core values and acts as a cultural ambassador, spreading joy within the bakery and the community while fostering the team's dedication to our customers and the NbC brand.

Key Responsibilities:

I. Team Leadership

• Prioritizes customer satisfaction, exemplifies outstanding guest engagement, and cultivates a positive workplace culture.

• Recruits and selects team members, ensuring clear communication of performance expectations and providing necessary training for effective role execution.

• Regularly interacts with team members to understand workload and progress, addressing challenges and making adjustments as necessary.

• Offers ongoing coaching and feedback to develop team skills and manage performance; conducts performance reviews and addresses issues promptly.

• Identifies potential leaders and cross-trains team members to enhance individual skills and ensure sufficient bakery coverage.
  • Maintains practical knowledge of all bakery roles and steps in to assist as business needs arise.
II. Business Operations

• Oversees the opening and closing procedures of the bakery, including cash management and bank transactions.

• Manages special orders through online and email channels for individual customers and corporate clients, including large and complex requests.

• Establishes and communicates weekly sales targets, cake production schedules, and team rosters, adjusting coverage based on business trends.

• Sets inventory levels according to production needs and sales forecasts, monitors stock, processes supply orders, and conducts monthly inventory checks.

• Ensures that NbC products, services, bakery environment, and visual merchandising meet established standards and comply with health and safety regulations.

• Controls all variable expenses, including labor, cost of goods sold, maintenance, and supplies, to optimize profitability.

• Performs administrative tasks, including sales reporting, labor tracking, and basic accounting functions.

III. Community Engagement

• Leads community outreach initiatives to boost brand awareness and participates in events aligned with the brand while responding to requests for contributions.

• Coordinates special event collaborations with local businesses, educational institutions, and community organizations.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED; further education is advantageous.

• 1-3 years of leadership experience in managing teams, business operations, and customer service within retail, hospitality, or foodservice sectors.

• Proven track record in hiring and developing teams, fostering a superior service environment, and achieving financial goals.

• Experience in setting productivity targets, managing inventory levels, and controlling costs.

• Food safety training certification (or must obtain within 30 days of employment).

• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, with a willingness to learn new technologies.

Work Availability:

Must be flexible to work various shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on business needs.

Compensation: $42,000 - $48,000 annually
