Job Summary

Paradise Valley Community College is seeking a highly skilled Library Specialist Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of the library's integrated services. This role requires strong leadership and customer service skills to ensure the smooth functioning of library services and maintain a high standard of resource management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and administer department budgets, monitor and authorize expenditures, and negotiate licensing agreements for library database collections.
  • Administer and coordinate library circulation services operations, ensuring high-quality services to all patrons.
  • Recruit, hire, supervise, coach, and train public service classified staff and student employees.
  • Perform evaluations for public classified staff, set library hours, and create a library and circulation desk schedule based on the academic calendar.
  • Monitor the library floor, interact with patrons, and ensure a conducive study/learning environment.
  • Oversee quality control and assurance activities, including Procard reconciliation and approvals.
Requirements
  • Associates Degree in Library Science or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Two years of related library support experience and two years of lead work or senior level work experience.
  • Strong customer service and leadership skills, with experience in supervising and training staff.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
