POSITION SUMMARY: Deliver empathetic, high-quality medical care throughout the cancer treatment journey. Responsible for prescribing systemic therapies and coordinating care with a multidisciplinary team involved in the patient's cancer management. This role emphasizes breast cancer treatment in partnership with specialized surgeons, radiation oncologists, and a comprehensive support team, including genetic counselors and nurse navigators.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Clinical Responsibilities:

  • Exemplify excellence in oncology diagnostics and align treatment objectives with patient preferences.
  • Conduct comprehensive oncology assessments and evaluations.
  • Administer definitive treatments and provide ongoing supportive care.
  • Encourage preventive health measures and wellness.
  • Evaluate and implement tailored patient care plans based on evidence-based practices.
  • Engage in clinical trials exploring innovative therapies and supportive care options.
  • Participate in on-call rotations as necessary.
  • Oversee advanced practice providers as required.
  • Ensure accurate medication administration in line with organizational policies.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance patient experiences.

EDUCATION:

Required:

  • Graduation from an accredited medical institution.
  • Completion of an accredited residency in internal medicine.
  • Completion of a fellowship in Hematology-Oncology.
  • Participation in required annual safety and educational training.
  • Fulfillment of annual continuing medical education (CME) requirements.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:

Required:

  • Current MD/DO license.
  • Board certification or eligibility in the relevant specialty.
  • Unrestricted Federal DEA registration.
  • Eligibility for participation in Medicare/Medicaid programs.
  • Valid driver's license meeting organizational requirements.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification if sedation practice is involved.

EXPERIENCE:

Required:

  • Experience in both hospital and outpatient oncology settings.
  • Proficiency in using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems.
  • Strong communication skills for diverse populations.
  • Experience in collaborative team environments.

Preferred:

  • Two years of active practice in Medical Oncology.
  • Familiarity with Epic EMR software.

PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT:

Must be capable of wearing necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for safety.
