POSITION SUMMARY:
The Dietary Manager is responsible for overseeing the preparation and delivery of meals that meet nutritional standards and comply with relevant regulations. This role ensures that all meals are appealing, nutritious, and served in a timely manner.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare meals according to established menus, standardized recipes, and dietary restrictions, ensuring only approved substitutions are made.
- Guarantee the prompt preparation and distribution of meals that are both nutritious and visually appealing, adhering to Federal, State, and organizational guidelines.
- Maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment in accordance with health and safety regulations.
- Provide leadership and direction to ensure food quality and safety standards are consistently met.
- Safeguard food throughout all stages of preparation, holding, serving, cooking, and transportation.
- Assist the Registered Dietitian with various tasks as necessary.
- Perform additional duties as required.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Possession of a Certified Dietary Manager Credential.
- A degree in Culinary Arts is preferred but not mandatory.
- ServSafe Certification is required.
- A minimum of two years' experience in food service management.
- Experience in healthcare food service is advantageous.
- Advanced culinary skills and knowledge of various cooking techniques.
- Familiarity with therapeutic diets and regulatory compliance.
- Ability to remain composed in high-pressure situations while managing multiple tasks.
- Strong judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Attention to detail and capability to train and supervise staff effectively.
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations and commitment to confidentiality.
- Excellent communication skills.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Ability to stand and walk for 75% of the workday.
• Capacity to lift, carry, push, and hold items weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Frequent bending, stooping, and stretching in confined spaces.
• Tolerance for extreme temperatures from cooking appliances and the ability to work comfortably in a hot and humid environment.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
Ensō Village is dedicated to equitable pay and transparency. The salary range for this position is between $70,000 and $80,000, influenced by various factors such as experience, education, and skills.
