Summary:

The Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) is a 0.8 to 1.0 full time position.

The RDN conducts nutrition assessments, develops plans for patients, and delivers clinical nutrition services; teaches nutrition education classes to patients and staff as needed; acts as a nutrition resource to Alliance staff; performs outreach services.

Some Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.

• Conducts a nutrition assessment and obtains nutrition history from patient.

• Consults with physicians and other health care personnel as needed to facilitate meeting the nutritional needs of Health Center patients. This may include counseling, documenting, and billing for patient visits including CPSP visits.

• Documents nutrition care plans and information into clinic EMR.

• Instructs patients and their families in nutritional principles, dietary plans, food selection, and preparation.

• Refers participants to other community resources as needed.

• Plans and implements the nutrition education component for patients. Teaches educational classes as needed.

• Performs outreach activities to promote participation in AMC sponsored programs and classes.

• Refers patients to the WIC program.

Requirements:

Education and/or Experience

Must be a Registered Dietitian.
2 years community and/or outpatient dietitian experience preferred.

Language Skills

Bilingual English-Spanish required.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

CA Registered Dietitian License
Professional registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
