Job Summary

The MEPF Construction Superintendent is responsible for overseeing the MEPF areas of a construction project, providing technical expertise in mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection. This role coordinates and schedules construction crews, determines construction requirements, and ensures subcontract work meets specifications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and manage daily field operational objectives, timelines, and goals.
  • Monitor project progress, review processes, and ensure consistency, efficiency, and quality of delivery.
  • Participate in project schedule and budget monitoring, working with Senior Superintendents to maintain and update.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors, staff, and owners to discuss progress, obstacles, and challenges.
  • Review construction documents, record information, and produce reports on personnel, production, and project logs.
  • Manage job site safety, actively walking the site, participating in inspections, and meeting with staff and subcontractors.
  • Review shop drawings and submittals for conformance with project specifications.
  • Manage MEP pre-installation meetings, verify material installation, and document conformance with approved submittals.
  • Assist in updates to the Procore QAP manual and develop new sections as needed.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry changes, regulatory standards, and trends, making adjustments to company standards and project-related sections as necessary.
  • Act as a liaison between trades, coordinating with owners for deliveries of major equipment and systems shutdowns.
  • Assist with planning work in relation to phased work and flow of work for mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and sprinkler systems.
  • Coordinate with test and balance to ensure they follow the schedule and flow of work.
  • Work with commissioning teams to ensure each MEPF trade follows the Cx plan, pre-commission systems, and assist with final commissioning.
