We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Medical Assisting Skills Lab Instructor to join our team at National Louis University's Accelerate U division. As a Medical Assisting Skills Lab Instructor, you will be responsible for facilitating in-person, clinical skills labs for our students, teaching them the essential skills and knowledge needed to succeed in the medical assisting field.
Key Responsibilities- Facilitate 8, 2.5 hour skills lab training sessions for a group of 8-12 students, covering topics such as infection control, patient communication, vital signs, emergency procedures, patient examinations, specimen collection and testing, phlebotomy, EKG, and assisting with minor surgery.
- Closely assess student skill level throughout lab sessions and provide individualized feedback on areas for improvement.
- Coordinate closely with the Accelerate U team, including the inclusion of assistant instructors.
- Promote student success by showing flexibility and exhibiting a passion for teaching and engaging students in the learning process.
- Certified medical assistant with 5+ years of experience in a clinical role and setting.
- Minimum of an Associate's degree in a related field of study.
- 1+ years of experience training other medical assistants.
- BLS Provider certified.
