Job Summary

**Job Purpose:**

Support the company's sanitation food safety program by focusing on proper cleaning and sanitizing of plant equipment and building in a manner that meets and complies with all food safety policies, FDA and OSHA regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform basic wash area duties, including running a pan washer, cleaning utensils by hand when needed, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
  • Perform basic machine disassembly and setup for cleaning, including covers, piping, and electrical components.
  • Complete cleaning tasks per Standard Sanitation Operating Procedures (SSOPs) to ensure a clean and safe working environment.
  • Recognize and address equipment needing deep cleaning to prevent contamination and maintain equipment efficiency.
  • Properly use chemicals to effectively and safely perform cleaning tasks, following all safety protocols and guidelines.
  • Report employee safety, food safety, and quality concerns to appropriate personnel to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Comply with all employee safety/food safety requirements, training, policies, and procedures to maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned to support the company's sanitation food safety program.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • 1 year minimum working in a kitchen cleaning or 1 year working in a food plant as a sanitation technician.
  • Basic knowledge of pre-rinse/wash/rinse/sanitize steps to ensure effective cleaning and sanitizing.
  • Basic knowledge of top-down washing sequence for proper food safety to prevent contamination.
  • Basic knowledge of sanitation chemical usage to ensure safe and effective cleaning.
  • Basic knowledge of lockout/tagout programs to ensure safe equipment operation.
  • Ability to learn how to clean all plant lines to maintain a clean and safe working environment.
  • Ability to prioritize work to meet deadlines and ensure a clean and safe working environment.
  • Ability to problem-solve to address equipment issues and maintain a clean and safe working environment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as a team to complete assigned tasks.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment to meet production demands.
