Key Responsibilities
  • Assist Veterinarians in Medical Procedures
    • Support veterinarians in performing physical examinations, dental procedures, surgeries, immunizations, and euthanasia
    • Assist in collecting specimens and performing routine laboratory procedures and tests
  • Provide Patient Care and Education
    • Communicate with and educate pet owners on animal health and wellness
    • Provide specialized nursing care for injured or ill animals
  • Maintain Hospital Operations
    • Assist in maintaining inventory of pharmaceuticals, equipment, and supplies
    • Clean, maintain, and sterilize instruments, equipment, and materials
  • Collaborate with Team Members
    • Work effectively with veterinarians, veterinary assistants, and other hospital staff to ensure seamless patient care
Requirements
  • Education and Certification
    • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in veterinary technology or a related field preferred
    • Current certification as a veterinary technician or assistant (CVT or RVT) or willingness to obtain certification
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
    • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
    • Ability to lift, carry, and handle animals weighing up to 50 pounds
