This role plays a pivotal part in shaping the daily operations of the store, working closely with market personnel to promote customer service and implement new ideas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the buying, transportation, receiving, unloading, storage, and rotation of meat products to ensure optimal freshness and quality.
  • Evaluate products to ensure they consistently meet high company standards.
  • Drive sales and profitability through strategic buying, effective merchandising, inventory management, exceptional customer service, and strong salesmanship.
  • Monitor and manage department expenses, shrink, and waste.
  • Utilize daily sales data to reduce shrink by proper production output.
  • Use detailed reports on sales, profits, and trends to make purchasing decisions.
  • Train and develop department employees.
  • Adhere to all state, local and company policies and regulations on health and safety.
  • Work with leadership to execute and promote company directives and promotions/campaigns.

Requirements:

  • High school Diploma or GED and five or more years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of experience and/or higher education required.
  • Food Safety Management certification required.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Prior retail and sales experience.
  • Basic computer, math, and data entry skills.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
