Your responsibilities will encompass effective communication and collaborative partnership within a team environment, involving regular interactions with private landowners, legal representatives, other operators, co-owners, and various governmental agencies at local, state, and federal levels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Negotiate strategic agreements for the acquisition, exchange, and/or divestment of both undeveloped and developed leasehold interests.
  • Draft and evaluate intricate oil and gas contracts impacting both undeveloped and developed leasehold.
  • Coordinate with legal advisors and Land brokers to resolve title issues for drilling and division order purposes.
  • Oversee and maintain oil and gas contracts, ensuring adherence to terms, corporate guidelines, legal standards, ethical practices, and industry norms.
  • Prepare, negotiate, and review contracts while managing contractual matters to ensure accuracy and compliance with corporate policies, legal requirements, and ethical standards.
  • Prepare and submit various filings to state and federal agencies, including Communitization Agreements, annual development plans, commercial well filings, location exceptions, and commingling applications, while representing the company at state hearings.
  • Act as a representative for ConocoPhillips in interactions with external operators, co-owners, private landowners, and relevant governmental entities.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must possess legal authorization to work in the United States on a full-time basis for any employer other than the current one.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Business, a related field, or a technical discipline, or an equivalent foreign qualification.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Land Negotiator in the oil and gas sector.
  • At least 1 year of in-house Land Negotiator experience.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft O365 applications, including Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams, and Word.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Energy Management, Energy Commerce, or a related discipline, or an equivalent foreign qualification.
  • Experience with various software packages utilized for Land functions (e.g., Quorum, ArcGIS, Enverus, etc.) for at least 1 year.
  • 1+ years of experience in project planning, acquisition economics, commercial evaluation, and diverse commercial deal structures.
  • Ability to independently solve complex problems.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach.
  • Proven ability to share knowledge and mentor others.
  • Capacity to effectively convey accurate Land recommendations to management while anticipating potential issues and inquiries.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proactive in driving positive performance and achieving results.
  • Ability to respond effectively to challenges and demands.
  • Innovative mindset with a focus on seeking improvement opportunities.
