As a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant at CHRISTUS Health, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our occupational therapy team.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver occupational therapy services under the supervision of an occupational therapist, adhering to established goals and treatment plans.
- Maintain accurate records and notes, ensuring compliance with CHRISTUS St. Michael and departmental policies.
- Assist in directing technicians and support personnel, taking ownership of occupational therapy charges.
- Participate in educational programs and contribute to the development of the occupational therapy department.
- Collaborate with the team to enhance customer/supplier relationships within the organization.
- Communicate effectively with customers, suppliers, fellow workers, and supervisors.
- Maintain required records/documentation on a timely manner as specified in departmental policy and procedures manual.
- Participate in maintaining/improving the effectiveness of the services provided by the occupational therapy department.
- Attend team meetings, clinical staffing reports, and updating patient reports.
- Perform patient care-related duties to restore patients to their maximum level of independence and function.
- Demonstrate clinical competencies in occupational therapy assisting skills and techniques.
- Assume responsibility as the situation warrants and respond accordingly.
- Ensure therapeutic equipment safety, operation, and maintenance.
- Associate Degree in Occupational Therapy assisting from an accredited occupational therapy program, approved by AOTA.
- Basic Computer Knowledge.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and written.
- New graduate entry level or any amount of experience in occupational therapy assisting is acceptable.
- Maintains current licensure/registration/certification and provides the hospital with proof of indicated requirements.
- BCLS certification required.
