About This Role

The Application Engineering Manager will oversee a team of skilled engineers responsible for developing and maintaining our award-winning products. This role requires a strong technical background, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to motivate and guide team members to achieve their goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day activities of the team, including project scheduling and resource allocation.
  • Conduct performance reviews, disciplinary actions, and other People Operations responsibilities for team members.
  • Work closely with Business Product Owners to identify priorities for Application Development and enhancements.
  • Collaborate with other Managers within Technology and key stakeholders in related departments.
  • Establish and drive processes and procedures within the team and Technology department.
  • Develop and implement training programs to enhance team members' skills and knowledge.
  • Ensure team members have guidance and coaching in mentoring other team members.

Requirements

  • Experience with dynamically typed / interpreted languages (javascript, python, php).
  • Experience with Relational Databases (sql server, mysql, postgres).
  • Experience with cloud technologies (aws, gcloud, azure).
  • Experience as a Technical Lead/Lead Engineer.
  • Experience with Version Control (git).
  • Experience with Unit and Integration Testing Methodologies.
  • Experience building highly-scalable software solutions.
  • Experience in an Agile SDLC and high understanding of Agile methodologies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment & welcome change.
  • Highly self-motivated.
  • Ability to work both in team and solo environments.
  • Demonstrates Leadership.
  • Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Prior experience as a people leader.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with flat file data processing (parsing, validation, normalization).
  • Experience with front-end web development.
  • Experience with data analytics tools (snowflake, PowerBI).
  • Experience with QA automation.
