Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to join our team at The MetroHealth System. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient-centered care to our communities in Northeast Ohio.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist healthcare providers with patient care, including vital signs, specimen collection, and medication administration.
  • Perform basic medical screenings and procedures, such as EKGs and wound care.
  • Register patients, gather and analyze payor data, and schedule appointments.
  • Work collaboratively with RNs, LPNs, NPs, and MDs to provide comprehensive patient care.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Completion of a Medical Assistant program or comparable military educational program.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or ability to obtain within 90 days.
  • Knowledge of basic medical procedures and medical terminology.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 6 months of clerical experience and experience related to patient care.
  • Active certification as a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) or equivalent.
  • Experience with Epic In-Basket management and point of care testing.
