Job Description

DNV Power Systems' Advisory group is seeking a Senior Generation Interconnection (GI) Engineer to join our Renewables & Power Grids team.

Our team provides innovative, cost-effective, and practical solutions to stakeholders in the power generation, transmission, and distribution systems. The ideal candidate will demonstrate vision and drive, be passionate about contributing to the growth and evolution of the Power Systems Advisory business in North America, and manage commercial projects, delivering technical insight and excellent customer service.

This role is based at our DNV office in various locations across the US, offering a dynamic hybrid schedule where employees will typically spend three days per week working from either a DNV office or client location/site.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform steady-state, dynamic, short-circuit, and/or PSCAD model development for renewable and conventional generation resources, including Solar, Storage, Wind, and Gas turbines.
  • Perform model benchmarking analysis and system-wide power flow analysis, including steady-state, dynamic stability, and short-circuit analysis.
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert for areas related to grid reliability and/or energy markets.
  • Serve as a Project Manager for small to medium projects.
  • Actively attend industry stakeholder meetings and stay up-to-date with assigned market changes in terms of developments and policy changes.
  • Contribute to the team's research and innovation activities in terms of development of new techniques and/or analytical tools to further the team's performance in terms of efficiency and/or capability improvements.
  • Cultivate new customer relationships and assist in preparing responses to Requests for Proposals (RFP) and provide Statements of Qualifications (SOQ) for new tenders/bids/opportunities.
