We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated MRI Technologist to join our team at Mercy Health. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our organization.
Key Responsibilities- Perform Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) procedures according to established protocols and guidelines.
- Work closely with radiologists and other physicians to ensure accurate and timely diagnosis.
- Contribute to the training and education of new staff members and assist in the oversight of MRI students.
- Provide direct patient care and instructions before, during, and after procedures.
- Perform IV injections and administer magnetic contrast agents as needed.
- Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and report issues to radiology maintenance/supervision.
- Associate's degree from an American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) accredited institute (preferred).
- Certification and Registration with American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Diagnostic Radiology with Advanced MRI Registry (MR) (required, or must be obtained within one year of hire).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (preferred upon hire, required prior to direct patient care).
- 1 year of experience in an MRI department in a hospital setting (preferred).
- May be exposed to high stress and fluctuating workloads.
- May be exposed to physical altercations and verbal abuse.
- May be exposed to high noise levels and bright lights.
- May be exposed to limited hazardous substances or body fluids.
- May have periods of constant interruptions.
