ROLE SUMMARY
We are in search of an experienced Financial Operations Manager to supervise and enhance financial functions, ensuring the efficiency of financial processes. Working closely with the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and the finance team, the Financial Operations Manager will provide strong leadership in maintaining the financial health and integrity of the organization. This position entails contributing to financial planning and analysis, implementing controls for operational efficiency, managing financial reporting, and overseeing cash flow activities. Furthermore, the Financial Operations Manager will provide financial and operational insights to department heads, C-suite executives, and Board Committees as necessary.
Key responsibilities of this full-time position include:
- Leading the finance and accounting team to guarantee accurate and timely financial reporting;
- Collaborating with operational teams to ensure precise revenue recognition and inventory management;
- Analyzing operational and financial data to facilitate strategic decision-making;
- Implementing enhancements in financial systems for improved productivity and efficiency;
- Overseeing the annual budgeting and forecasting processes;
- Leading departmental and organization-wide initiatives to ensure data integrity and necessary controls;
- Contributing to the formulation and execution of organization-wide policies for success.
- Staying informed through educational opportunities;
- Ensuring confidentiality and security of financial information;
- Delivering high-quality services to stakeholders;
- Adhering to Filoli's policies, procedures, and standards;
- Remaining adaptable and taking on additional responsibilities as assigned;
- Punctuality and attendance are essential for all work-related functions.
To be successful in this role, candidates should meet the educational and skill requirements:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. A CPA, MBA, or equivalent is advantageous.
Core Competencies:
- At least 10 years of progressive experience in accounting/finance, preferably in non-profit accounting;
- Minimum 5 years of supervisory experience;
- Demonstrated leadership abilities and capacity to collaborate effectively;
- Cultural awareness and commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives;
- Strong communication skills for both written and oral presentations;
- Ability to make informed decisions and solve problems efficiently.
A valid Driver's License is required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
To perform this role effectively, employees must meet certain physical demands:
- Lift and carry items up to 20 pounds;
- Engage in various physical activities such as walking on uneven terrain, climbing stairs, bending, reaching, and sitting for prolonged periods.
