Responsibilities of the Fire Safety Equipment Specialist include, but are not limited to:
- Ensuring a secure work environment while providing services to clients
- Overseeing site safety protocols
- Setting up and dismantling H2S equipment
- Maintaining and repairing breathing air systems
- Inspecting and servicing fire extinguishers
- Repairing personal and rig monitoring devices
- Conducting high angle and confined space rescue training
Qualifications for the Fire Safety Equipment Specialist include, but are not limited to:
- Experience in confined space operations
- High angle rope rescue certification
- Knowledge of hot work and permitting processes
- Familiarity with multi-gas monitoring equipment
- Understanding of comprehensive job safety practices
- Valid driving record
- Possession of a Class B Texas Fire Extinguisher license
- Completion of a 90-day evaluation period for new hires
- Physical capability to bend, crouch, and squat as required
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Work Environment: Capacity to operate in an industrial setting, with exposure to varying temperatures and humidity levels. Must be able to work in all weather conditions.
Training and Certifications: Knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety standards relevant to the oilfield. A current Texas Class B fire extinguishers license is mandatory.
Shift and Overtime: Must be available for a 24-hour on-call schedule, including weekends and potential overtime.
Travel Requirements: Limited to regional service, primarily within the Permian Basin, with occasional national travel.
Educational Background: High school diploma or GED is required.
