Job Summary:

William Backus Hospital is seeking a skilled Physical Therapist to join our team in providing high-quality patient care in our outpatient neurological and orthopedic clinics. As a Physical Therapist, you will work with patients who have a variety of neurological conditions, including Parkinson's disease, stroke, multiple sclerosis, and other movement disorders.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough assessments and develop individualized treatment plans for patients with neurological and orthopedic conditions.
  • Provide evidence-based physical therapy interventions, including manual therapy, exercise programs, and education on proper body mechanics and injury prevention.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, occupational therapists, and speech-language pathologists, to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care transitions and optimal patient outcomes.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of clinical policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
  • Current licensure as a Physical Therapist in the state of Connecticut.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in outpatient neurological and orthopedic physical therapy.
  • Strong clinical skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
