We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Deli Cashier/Cook to join our team at Prairie's Edge Casino Resort. As a key member of our food service team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, preparing and serving food menu items, and operating the cash register.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take and fill food orders for customers in a fast-paced environment.
  • Makes change, accepts checks for the amount of purchase only, and issues receipts or tickets to customers with the customers name identified on the stub.
  • Must know all menu items and be able to assist customers through a description of items and specials.
  • Must help clean and organize eating, service, and kitchen areas by washing/wiping tables, sweeping and mopping floors and emptying garbage.
  • Notify supervisor or manager of shortages or special orders.
  • Communicate with customers regarding orders, comments, and complaints.
  • Prepare daily food items, and cook simple foods and beverages, such as sandwiches, salads, soups, pizza, or coffee, using proper safety precautions and sanitary measures.
  • Select food items from serving or storage areas and place them in dishes, on serving trays, or in take-out containers.
  • Relay food orders to cooks.
  • Prepare and serve cold drinks, or frozen milk drinks or desserts, using drink-dispensing, milkshake, or frozencustard machines.
  • Collect and return dirty dishes to the kitchen for washing.
  • Cook or reheat food items such as french fries.
  • Gives cash refunds or issues credit memorandums to customers for returned merchandise.
  • Knowledge of all equipment and responsible for cleaning all equipment.
  • Be aware of food quality standards and menu manuals. Know how long to hold food to ensure food quality. Utilize leftovers and reduce over-production; report waste to Deli Supervisors and/or Manager.

Requirements:

  • High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED): Preferred
  • 2 plus months of experience in food preparation and cash handling
  • Must pass State and Federal Background check and pre-employment drug screen
