Job Summary

As a Deli Cashier/Cook at Prairie's Edge Casino Resort, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service while operating the cash register and preparing and serving food menu items. This is a dynamic role that requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work well under pressure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Take and fill food orders for customers in a fast-paced environment
  • Makes change, accepts checks, and issues receipts or tickets to customers
  • Must know all menu items and be able to assist customers through a description of items and specials
  • Must help clean and organize eating, service, and kitchen areas
  • Notify supervisor or manager of shortages or special orders
  • Communicate with customers regarding orders, comments, and complaints
  • Prepare daily food items, and cook simple foods and beverages
  • Select food items from serving or storage areas and place them in dishes, on serving trays, or in take-out containers
  • Relay food orders to cooks
  • Prepare and serve cold drinks, or frozen milk drinks or desserts
  • Collect and return dirty dishes to the kitchen for washing
  • Cook or reheat food items
  • Gives cash refunds or issues credit memorandums to customers for returned merchandise
  • Knowledge of all equipment and responsible for cleaning all equipment
  • Be aware of food quality standards and menu manuals
Requirements
  • High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED): Preferred
  • 2 plus months of experience in food preparation and cash handling
  • Must pass State and Federal Background check and pre-employment drug screen
