Position Overview:
As the Director of Credit Risk for Real Estate at BECU, you will play a pivotal role in steering our Credit Risk Management division towards excellence. Your leadership will be crucial in shaping credit risk strategies, enhancing governance standards, and ensuring compliance with regulatory frameworks across our Mortgage and Home Equity portfolios.


Compensation:
The Target Pay Range for this role is $188,700.00 - $230,800.00 annually, with a full Pay Range of $146,000.00 - $272,700.00 annually. Compensation decisions are based on relevant skills, experience, and education, with performance-based incentives available.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop Credit Strategies: Collaborate with the Chief Credit Officer and business leaders to formulate and implement credit strategies that align with BECU's risk appetite and loan portfolio goals.
  2. Analyze Portfolio Performance: Conduct comprehensive analyses of portfolio performance, identifying risk opportunities and threats. Present findings to the Credit Risk Committee and Executive Management.
  3. Lead Risk Initiatives: Drive initiatives to enhance risk appetite through the development of credit risk initiatives, including portfolio origination, account management, collections, and loss mitigation strategies.
  4. Refine Policies and Guidelines: Utilize statistical analysis and business insight to develop and enhance standards, policies, and guidelines, collaborating with stakeholders for approval.
  5. Innovate Credit Campaigns: Create and optimize credit campaigns and related procedures to improve risk management practices.
  6. Monitor Industry Trends: Stay informed on macro and microeconomic trends, industry best practices, and regulatory changes to enhance BECU's risk management protocols.
  7. Optimize Decision Engines: Continuously improve decision engines for origination and account management to align with risk strategies and operational efficiencies.
  8. Ensure Compliance: Maintain effective communication with auditors and examiners, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.
  9. Guide Credit Risk Strategies: Lead the development and implementation of credit risk strategies across BECU's loan and deposit portfolios.
  10. Develop Talent: Provide coaching and mentoring to enhance employee performance and development.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, mathematics, or economics, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 10 years in credit risk management.
  • At least 6 years in financial industries, particularly in Mortgage and Home Equity.
  • 5 years of people management experience.
  • Experience with presentation development software.
  • Proficiency in developing credit risk policies and utilizing data analysis.
