Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Material Planner to join our Materials Management team in Chantilly, VA. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for supporting the material acquisition plans within the Leidos National Security Sector.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the Program team to ensure a streamlined procurement process of materials against program requirements.
  • Generate material requirements and provide necessary support for acquisition plans from start to finish.
  • Maintain reports and monitor material movement throughout manufacturing and inventory sequences.
  • Coordinate forecasts, workload, expediting, and acquisition priority with commodity/category team leadership.
  • Provide advice to the program on proper routes to take throughout the materials management and sourcing process.
  • Place orders through purchasing cards within a specific spend threshold/limit.
  • Analyze material requirements for leveraging opportunities, supplier recommendations, and acquisition planning.
  • Engage the supply chain (supplier to manufacturing) to determine optimal acquisition strategy.
  • Manage production and delivery schedules.
  • Communicate with internal and client project team members.
Requirements
  • Top Secret/SCI with Polygraph
  • BA degree or equivalent experience and 2+ years prior relevant experience.
  • Strong Microsoft Office knowledge and skills
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks
  • Great organization and communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Intermediate Excel experience (Pivot Tables, Charts, v-Lookups, Bar Charts)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Buying experience
  • Supply Chain Management experience
  • Strong knowledge and experience in Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) requirements for price and source justification requirements at appropriate levels for purchasing card orders
  • Experience with PowerBI, CostPoint or similar system
