Primary Purpose:

The Senior Software Engineer is responsible for delivering innovative, high-quality software solutions that comply with established coding standards and technical designs. Collaboration is key in this position, as the engineer will work closely with team members, stakeholders, and the Product team to ensure that all products align with business, functional, and technical requirements while maintaining scalability.

The Senior Software Engineer will translate business and technical needs into well-engineered, tested, and deployed technology solutions, which involves gathering user requirements, defining system functionalities, and writing code in various programming languages.

This role encompasses the entire project lifecycle, from inception to completion, including the creation of project artifacts and executive status reports, while also mentoring less experienced team members.

Challenges will vary in scope, requiring a deep understanding of business strategies, operations, and key stakeholders.


Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Design technical solutions based on defined requirements and functional designs.
  • Build and configure technical components to meet business needs and architectural standards.
  • Document programming code to fulfill gathered requirements.
  • Deliver solutions through ERP or SaaS platforms.
  • Conduct code reviews and quality assurance to ensure compliance with technical standards.
  • Collaborate with team members to refine user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Prepare development and testing environments, ensuring readiness for testing phases.
  • Address bugs identified during quality assurance and testing processes.
  • Continuously work to reduce technical debt and decommission outdated applications.
  • Release software into production and perform various testing methodologies.
  • Provide insights and lead initiatives for improving team processes and reducing technical debt.
  • Develop solutions that address complex technical challenges impacting multiple disciplines.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and client team members.
  • Act as a project leader regarding solution design and processes.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on technology solutions.
  • Collaborate with the Product team to develop Master Data Management roadmaps.
  • Lead brainstorming sessions and technical delivery approaches, fostering team empowerment.

Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree in Computer Science or a related technical field; equivalent experience will be considered.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in technology.
  • Experience in a leadership role, guiding teams directly or indirectly.
  • Proven experience in training or onboarding team members in relevant technologies.
  • Demonstrated experience as a Software Engineer or Developer.
  • Ability to develop software in various programming languages.
  • Familiarity with relational databases and ORM technologies.
  • Experience in developing web applications using popular frameworks.
  • Knowledge of test-driven development methodologies.
  • Ability to document requirements and specifications effectively.
  • Understanding of algorithms and data structures.
  • Experience with Master Data Management solutions.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Postgraduate degree or advanced certifications in relevant fields.
  • Experience in Agile methodologies and Product/Platform-based operating models.
  • Experience in leading teams within the retail or grocery sectors.
  • Familiarity with SAP and Stibo solutions.
