The Nutritional Services Assistant plays a crucial role in executing designated tasks and sanitation protocols within the Dietary Department, ensuring adherence to all relevant laws, regulations, and organizational standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepares meals and snacks as directed by the supervisor, following established menus, schedules, resident preferences, and hygiene guidelines.
  • Serves meals in residents' rooms, dining areas, and other specified locations.
  • Loads and distributes food trays and carts to designated areas; retrieves and returns food carts to the dishwashing section.
  • Acquires food supplies for upcoming meals.
  • Assists in the receipt and storage of food and supplies, ensuring items are properly labeled and dated according to protocols.
  • Performs cleaning and dishwashing tasks as assigned, including work surfaces, meat preparation areas, refrigerators, freezers, floors, food carts, utensils, and other kitchen equipment.
  • Supports the cook in meal preparation and service.
Required Qualifications:

High School diploma or equivalent

Preferred Experience:

1+ years of experience in food service and within a long-term care setting
