We are seeking a skilled Server to join our team at PPL Center, a state-of-the-art multipurpose arena in downtown Allentown, PA. As a Server, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our guests while following our service standards. This includes taking guest orders, delivering food and beverages, and ensuring the quality of the food and overall guest experience.

Responsibilities
  • Greet guests in a friendly and professional manner
  • Provide education about our style of service, food and beverage menus, and ingredients used
  • Ensure menu knowledge to address guests' food allergy concerns and questions
  • Smile and maintain a positive attitude at all times
  • Perform light food preparation duties when needed
  • Follow all service standards, including up-selling and informing guests of daily specials
  • Check food and beverages for quality and presentation before serving
  • Serve food and beverages to guests
  • Check identification to ensure guests meet minimum age requirements for consumption of alcoholic beverages
  • Recognize signs of intoxication and handle alcohol-related situations effectively
  • Provide food and drink recommendations to guests
  • Receive guest payments and process transactions
  • Sincerely thank all guests and invite them back for another visit soon
  • Clear, clean, and reset tables promptly according to proper sanitation standards
  • Ensure all condiments and napkin dispensers are clean and well stocked
  • Respond appropriately to guest complaints and bring any issues to the attention of management
  • Perform marketing and other promotional services as needed
  • Complete beginning, change, and end of shift side duties
  • Understand the importance of speed of service and act with a sense of urgency when performing job tasks
  • Attend all scheduled employee meetings
  • Additional tasks as assigned by management
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Must be 18 or over
  • 1 year or more experience serving in a fast-paced high volume environment
  • Previous cash handling experience preferred
  • Ability to learn to operate a cash register and corresponding system accurately
  • Possess valid food handling certificate and RAMP certification if required by state and federal regulations
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a friendly, positive attitude with co-workers, management staff, volunteers, and guests
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, some holidays, and long hours
  • Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Must perform physical activities in a variety of environmental conditions that require moderate strength
