Job Title: Positive Behavior Support Specialist

At Surpass Behavioral Health, we are dedicated to providing high-quality behavioral health services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Positive Behavior Support Specialist to join our team.

Job Summary:

The Positive Behavior Support Specialist will conduct Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and develop Positive Behavior Supports Plans for participants in Kentucky's 1915(c) Waiver programs. The successful candidate will provide direct support to participants and training to key stakeholders on the implementation of the plan to promote positive outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct FBAs and develop Positive Behavior Supports Plans for participants in Kentucky's 1915(c) Waiver programs.
  • Provide direct support to participants and training to key stakeholders on the implementation of the plan.
  • Monitor, develop, and update behavioral services and plans in the educational setting and facilitate family support services/home treatment plans.
  • Collaborate with the participant's person-centered planning team to develop and revise in-home treatment or support plans as components of a participant's Plan of Care (POC).
  • Complete a Functional Behavior Assessment (FBA) prior to the development of a Positive Behavior Supports Plan, using designated templates and within established protocols and timelines, and in full compliance with Waiver regulations.
  • Complete a Positive Behavior Supports Plan subsequent to completion of a FBA, using designated templates and within established protocols and timelines, and in full compliance with Waiver regulations.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in a behavioral science or human services field is required.
  • At least 1 year of direct experience working with an IDD population is required; experience working specifically with children with Autism Spectrum Disorders is preferred.
  • Valid state driver's license is required.
