Job Summary

The Maintenance Mechanic II is a key member of the Guthrie team, responsible for performing a variety of maintenance and engineering duties to ensure the comfort and safety of patients, staff, and visitors. This role requires a strong understanding of building trades, carpentry, painting, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical repairs, as well as the ability to operate and maintain complex equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on building systems, including HVAC, electrical, and plumbing.
  • Operate and maintain complex equipment, including boilers, chillers, pumps, and controls.
  • Conduct troubleshooting and diagnostic work to identify and resolve system failures.
  • Assist in making decisions on repairs and maintenance, and report major problems to the Manager or Supervisor.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and models to plan work layouts and make routine computations.
  • Plan and execute installations, fabricate materials, and recommend alternate methods of installation.
  • Maintain logs, perform rounds, and complete p.m. work orders, tests, and inspections.
  • Demonstrate cost-effectiveness by proper use and care of equipment, and accurately recording labor and supply charges.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Two years of trade school or five years of comparable related experience.
  • Demonstrated skill in one trade and basic understanding of other trades acquired through on-the-job training.
  • Knowledge of all applicable OSHA standards, including Right-to-Know, Lock-out Tag-out, ladder safety, and other standards that may apply.
  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic calculations and make decisions and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and transmit complicated, detailed instructions in writing and orally.
Working Conditions

The Maintenance Mechanic II will work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent exposure to mechanical equipment, chemicals, and other hazardous materials. The ability to work independently and as part of a team is essential, as is the ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.

Compensation

The pay rate for this position is $29.85 per hour.
