Overview:

Community Health System is seeking a skilled Sterile Processing Tech to join our team. As a Sterile Processing Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest level of care for our patients.

Responsibilities:

  • Process surgical instrumentation by decontamination (cleaning) utilizing various mechanical or manual methods.
  • Prepare trays and packs by organizing in a prescribed manner while carefully checking for broken or missing items.
  • Perform sterilization procedures utilizing several acceptable methodologies.
  • Report defective or missing items to the team leader or manager.
  • Maintain storage and adequate supplies of sterilized instrumentation.
  • Provide department support to staff by assisting them in locating an item.
  • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • MINIMUM REQUIRED: High School Diploma, General Education Development (GED) or Completion of a CMC Approved Individualized Education Plan (IEP) Certificate.
  • MINIMUM REQUIRED: Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) Certification from IAHCSMM OR Certified Sterile Processing & Distribution Technician (CSPDT) Certification from CBSPD.
  • PREFERRED: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers by American Heart Association (AHA).
